North Carolina pastor calls for the death of gays and lesbians during sermon

Video of a North Carolina preacher advocating that all gays and lesbians confined by an electric fence until they die off surfaced online Monday (21 May).
Charles L. Worley, pastor of Providence Road Baptist Church in Maiden, North Carolina, delivered the sermon on May 13 slamming President Barack Obama's endorsement of same-sex marriage.
'I figured a way to get rid of all the lesbians and queers,' he tells his congregation. 'Build a great, big, large fence — 150 or 100 mile long — put all the lesbians in there... Do the same thing for the queers and the homosexuals and have that fence electrified so they can't get out… And you know what, in a few years, they'll die.'
The pastor of a church which bills itself as 'the home of old time religion.' also said: 'God have mercy. It makes me pukin' sick to think about — I don't even whether or not to say this in the pulpit — can you imagine kissing some man?'
In additon, Worley made it clear he won't be voting for  Obama in the presidential race this fall describing his president as 'a baby killer and a homosexual lover.'
According to his church's website, Worley has been pastor at the church for 27 years and has been pastor of six churches since 1959.
His sermon was brought to light by the Catawba Valley Citizens Against Hate, a grassroots initiative to fight back and end hate in their community.
Members of Worley's congregation can be heard saying 'Amen' to his remarks - the same reaction that another North Carolina pastor, this one named Sean Harris, got when he suggested parents punch their sons if they act effeminate.
Harris made his remarks during a sermon in which he spoke in favor of the state's Amendment One, a successful ballot initiative passed earlier this month that adds a ban same-sex marriages and civil unions to the North Carolina constitution.
