APA - Abuja (Nigeria) The presidential candidate for the opposition Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), retired Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, warned Friday that any holder of public office given to corruption under his leadership will be made to "vomit the loot''.
Buhari, who introduced the War Against Indiscipline (WAI) in his tenure as military head of state, said at a CPC rally in Yola on Friday, that ``public funds are a trust and a CPC government will do everything possible to protect this trust which comes from the people’’.
``'Whoever dares loot public funds under a CPC government will be made to vomit the loot,'' Buhari warned.
The CPC presidential hopeful promised that a CPC government would improve security, power supply and revitalize the nation’s railway system.
``We will equip the army, police and other security agencies as well as improve on their welfare to boost security. Robbers, kidnappers and other dangerous criminals will be dealt with by the grace of God,'' Buhari pldged.
In his speech, the Adamawa CPC governorship candidate, retired Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa, extolled the qualities of Buhari, saying if elected governor, he would emulate the onetime Nigerian leader.
``We are going to offer true dedicated service based on tested and trusted leadership, honesty, hard work, sincerity and commitment and above all, the fear of God. Service will be for the people purely, with no sentiments,'' Marwa added.
The state CPC Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Waziri, urged the electorate not to sell their votes but instead use them to bring about meaningful change in their lives which he said only a CPC government will ensure.
